So what’s happening?

I’ve been getting some calls from friends back home wanting to know what I’ve been up to. It seems to me that they really miss the blog updates, or maybe just not knowing what is going on with Tiger and I. Either way it is a nice complement for both reasons.

For the 4th of July I played in a golf tourney at the Elks Lodge here in Coquille with my Brother in Law Roger. (We did so poorly that the Elks wants our membership back….LOL). Those two days we couldn’t do anything right. But did have fun. Roger got closest to the hole (I would have won if they had the farthest from the hole).

DSCF0003 The next couple of days we just sit around to recuperate. The Oregon coast is so beautiful this time of the year. Tiger and I spend most of our time just sight seeing and geocaching.

These are a few pic’s of the landscape here in Oregon.

Living in the desert you really forget how green things can be. The scenic panorama is so refreshing and awe inspiriting. I love the North Western States.

Now don’t get me wrong their are a few things we could live without. Tiger has had his share of Tick’s this trip. And they really aren’t any fun for him or for me to pull them off of him. I’ve been using hair conditioner, because it is thick and they can’t breathe or hang on with it. So removing the Tick’s have been easy so far. (Nasty critters.) And he found a skunk to play with. I’m  glad it was a mild spray. It only took him a week to get rid of the smell. I think he is learning that he can’t ride with me like that. (I just drag him 30 yards behind the truck, on they way home).

So now its the 18th of July and my sister (Sheila) and I like to cook, so we decided to make a Black Forest Cake. Neither one of us has made this cake before and wanted to test our skills. It turned out fantastic. My brother in law (Roger) was skeptic of the whole fare. But was the first to declare war for his share.

DSCF0115 We did change the recipe just a little by adding cream cheese to the whipped cream. Boy what a delight.DSCF0117

Wow!

However by doing this we ended up with way to much icing. So we got the idea that we can make a cheese cake with what’s left.

Now I haven’t tried the Cheese Cake yet. We had to drive back to Coquille  before it was cooled enough to cut. But Roger and I are playing golf in the morning and he promised to bring me a couple of  pieces.  I’ll have to get lucky on this one. (Roger has a sweet tooth and he just might not deliver the goods). But it really looks good.

DSCF0120 I’ve got a feeling I’ll just have to ask him how good was it. (LOL)

Now don’t get the idea this has been all easy. Sheila, Roger and I put in the new fire pit in the yard. I think it turned our really nice. So what do you think?
